The Signal Live hub transmits data from the Converge devices to the platform via cellular connectivity, enabling wireless and automated real time data collection.

CHARGING YOUR HUB

To charge the Signal Live hub, the hub must be turned ON using the Power button and connected to a power supply using the USB-C charging port, the cable provided with the hub and a charger will the following specification:

15W

Standard Voltage: 5V, 3A

Max Voltage: 13.7V, 1.1A

Whilst charging, the battery LED will appear solid amber. Once the battery reaches 100%, it will appear solid green. The battery level will also be indicated on the Signal Live page, accessed by scanning the QR code on the Signal Live hub.

BOOTING UP AND FINDING NETWORK CONNECTION

When the Signal Live hub is turned ON, the hub will start booting up.

The 3 LED indicators will turn ON for 2 seconds and then OFF. After booting up, the hub will start to search for a cellular network, with a flashing blue internet LED.

Once it gains connection, the internet LED will display green.

FINDING THE OPTIMAL POSITION FOR YOUR SIGNAL LIVE HUB

Place the hub with an unobstructed view of the sky, ensuring the internet LED displays green.

Position the hub within 15m (50ft) of the registered Signal devices it is collecting data from.

You can check the connectivity of the hub to its nearby registered Signal devices through the online status page accessed by scanning the QR code on the hub and signing into your Converge account.

When the hub is booted up or turned on, it will be in SETUP mode. This means it will send updates to the platform frequently (approx every 30 seconds) so that you can see feedback on the online status page to help you optimise it’s position on site. Remember to refresh the online status page on your browser.

The hub will then be put into normal operating PROCESS mode. This means the hub will send updates to the platform every 20 minutes.

To get faster feedback on the platform, for example, if network connectivity is lost and/or the hub is relocated, restart the hub to put it into SETUP mode again.

SITE ASSIGNMENT

Before using the Signal Live hub, it will need to be assigned to your job site. There are two ways in which this can be done.

1. Auto assignment

If there are already Signal devices registered on your jobsite, and the Signal Live hub detects these devices nearby when it is online, the Signal Live hub will automatically assign to the same site that the Signal devices are registered on.

The Signal Live hub will appear in the Site Inventory on the Mobile App and platform.

2. Manual assignment

If there are no Signal devices registered on your jobsite yet, the Signal Live hub can be manually assigned to the jobsite by scanning the QR code on the hub.

Sign into your Converge account to view the Signal Live page, and select the jobsite on which you would like to use the Signal Live Hub on.

If you do not see your jobsite available to you, please contact your Site Admin user to invite you to the relevant jobsite.

CONNECTING SIGNAL DEVICES TO THE SIGNAL LIVE HUB

When connecting to Signal devices, the Signal Live Hub will connect to a maximum of 20 of the closest devices.

These are displayed in the Site Inventory and the Signal Live page accessed by scanning the QR code on the hub.

MOUNTING THE SIGNAL LIVE HUB

  1. Find an appropriate place to mount the hub. These could be scaffold poles or hoarding.
  2. For best results, the position the hub the right way up so the buttons and charging point are facing down.
  3. Ensure that the back face of the hub faces the object on which it is being mounted and not attached along the side edge of the hub.
  4. Slide the cable ties through the fixings on the back of the hub and use them to tie the hub to the mounting object.
